The ReStore

Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity ReStore opened its doors January 17, 2004, leasing 9857 square feet from
Michael Garman Studios. The ReStore was established as a self-sustaining fundraising entity benefiting Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity.

In less than 10 months the store added an additional 3700 square feet to accommodate its growth. The entire inventory comes from generous donations from individuals and business throughout El Paso County. In June 2007 another milestone was reached when the ReStore achieved its first million dollars in sales. Two months later they added the remaining square footage of the building bringing the total size of the store to 31,500 square feet of donated merchandise.

In 2008, two additional milestones were reached. First, the ReStore reached its 1 million dollar mark in donations to Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity. To date over 15 houses have been built over the last 6 years by funds generated through sales at the ReStore. The second milestone was the purchase of the 31,500 square feet building. Purchase was completed by year end 2009.

Our 31,500 square foot warehouse is staffed primarily by volunteers; this means we are able to give more of the stores funds to building houses. As of summer 2010 the ReStore has reached over 3.4 million in sales and a total of 1.3 million dollars in contributions to Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity.
